Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha is a Buddhist pilgrimage and WORLD HERITAGE SITE enlisted by UNESCO in 1997, located in Rupandehi District. Lumbini is one of many magnets for pilgrimage that sprang up in places pivotal to the life of the Buddha.
