Today, you will embark on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, situated in the eastern Terai region of Nepal. The journey takes approximately 8 to 9 hours and passes through lush hills, rural landscapes, and vibrant towns, offering glimpses of Nepal’s diverse geography. Upon arrival at Koshi Tappu, one of Nepal’s most significant birdwatching and wetland conservation areas, you will check into your hotel for an overnight stay in Koshi Tappu.
Today is dedicated to exploring the natural beauty and rich biodiversity of Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve. Begin your morning with a guided birdwatching tour. Koshi Tappu is renowned as a birdwatcher's paradise, home to over 500 species of birds, including migratory and endangered varieties. As you explore the grasslands, wetlands, and riverbanks, you may also encounter wild water buffalo (Arna), deer, and other wildlife. Today, you will drive from Gaighat back to Kathmandu, a journey that takes approximately 8–9 hours depending on road conditions. The drive takes you through the diverse terrain of the Terai plains, mid-hills, and river valleys, offering scenic views and a glimpse into the daily lives of people in rural Nepal. As you ascend toward the Kathmandu Valley, you will notice a gradual change in climate and landscape. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, check-in at your hotel and enjoy a well-deserved rest.
It's your last day in Nepal! Grab some breakfast, and then take in some last-minute shopping in Kathmandu. We'll make sure you arrive at Kathmandu International Airport with plenty of time before your flight home. At this time, we'll say our goodbyes and bid you farewell, armed with warm memories and gorgeous photos to show your loved ones.
