The trek to Everest Base Camp commences with a thrilling flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, landing at the legendary Tenzing Hillary Airport. The 30-minute flight unfolds a mesmerizing panorama as you touch down in the mountain-top village, buzzing with the anticipation of trekkers and guides preparing for the adventure ahead. The air at higher elevations is cool and crisp, complemented by lush mountain villages and breathtaking views, creating a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Trekkers make memorable stops at Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Gorakshep on the route to Everest Base Camp. Each village offers an opportunity to experience the warmth of local hospitality and immerse oneself in the rich Sherpa traditions of Nepal. The 2-day trek to Namche Bazaar, the bustling trading hub of the region, unveils the natural beauty of the Khumbu glacier, a highlight of the journey.

Tour Itinerary

Namaste & welcome to Mandala Holidays! Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by a representative from Mandala Holidays. After completing your custom formalities (Visa, etc) pick up your luggage and look for our representative with a Mandala Holidays with Group leader's name display board at the arrival gate. You will be then transferred to the Hotel. (Overnight at hotel).

Today you will have to check out early and our representative will escort you to Ramechaap (Manthali Airport) for your flight to Lukla. The drive will take you around 3-4 hours and it will be a 20-25 minute flight more like a mountain flight with a view of many mesmerizing mountains. Upon arrival in Lukla, it is a 3-hour trek along the Dudh Kosi Valley. The trail lined with blue pine forest and is especially spectacular in spring when the rhododendron flowers are bright in bloom. Cross the Dudh Kosi River at Benkar, and look way up above 6,000 metres to see the peaks of snow-capped Kusum Kanguru (6369m) and Thamserku (6623m). Reach Phakding (2610m) for a well-deserved rest. On this day, you will be starting your trek after breakfast continuing along the Dudh Koshi (river), you will enter Sagarmatha National Park (showing your entrance ticket and registering your Trek card). You will have your first altitude jump so you need to take it easy. The walk starts to get a little tougher, with a steep ascent to Namche Bazaar where you will get the first view of Mount Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse. Your accommodation will be at Namche for the night, rest and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. (Overnight at Teahouse).

Today is your acclimatization day at Namche. We will hike up to Syangboche Airport (3,748 m) and Hotel Everest View (3,880 m). From these points, soak in the awe-inspiring vistas of Ama Dablam, Mount Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse all while savoring a comforting cup of coffee. During your stay in Namche, you can also explore the Sherpa Museum, immersing yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the Sherpa community. It's a day to rest and acclimate, taking in the breathtaking scenery and cultural insights that Namche has to offer.

Today we will trek towards Tengboche. After trekking for some time along the ridge, then we will descend to Dudh Koshi River at Phunkithank. Tengboche have largest Monastery of Khumbu region. On reaching Tengboche, we will visit the biggest monastery, furthermore, we can also have a close view of Mt. Amadabalam (6853m) which is one of the most beautiful mountains of the region.

Today's trek to Dingboche will take approximately five to six hours at a gentle pace, with a gradual increase in elevation from 3,860 meters in Tengboche to 4,410 meters. As the altitude rises, it's important to walk slowly and allow your body to adjust naturally. You may begin to feel the effects of the elevation, such as a mild headache, so taking your time is key. After descending from Pangboche, you will stop at Shomare for a relaxed lunch before continuing toward the peaceful village of Dingboche. Enjoy a calm and restful evening amidst the beautiful mountain surroundings.

Today will be your rest day at Dingboche. You have gained a lot of height to this day and it’s important to allow your body to catch up. So perhaps a short walk in the direction of Island Peak base camp might be what you fancy or you can hike up to the Nankardzong peak from where you can get a glimpse of Cho La Lake, Ama Dablam Base Camp, Mount Makalu and its glacier, Island Peak and other beautiful peaks. After returning from the hike you will have your lunch and you can roam around the place for the rest of the day or play cards with your team. (Overnight at Teahouse).

Time to trek to another destination! We walk through the glacial path on the famous Khumbu glacier today towards Lobuche as our destination for the day. You will have to cross Thukla Pass and also a memorial for the fallen Everest climbers. You can take a break at the memorial for a moment. The landscape changes drastically and the wilderness grows to a more peaceful and magnificent one. We will walk through the trail that is filled with huge boulders and moraine. We will certainly feel the oxygen level going thinner and thinner as we trek further higher. Slowly but ultimately, we will make it to Lobuche to stay overnight. The beautiful surroundings of Lobuche help us feel better after we check into the guest house. (Overnight at Teahouse).

A pivotal day! You will be starting your trip early at 4 am as you will need to reach Base camp early as problems from high winds occur in the afternoon. It will take you around 3-4 hours to reach Gorakshep where you will have your Lunch and after that, you will carry on your journey towards Everest Base Camp (5,364 m). You will cross some difficult rocks with sights of some crevasses. You can take some pictures at the Everest Base Camp which you can cherish for the rest of your life and be proud of the accomplishment. After some moments you will return to Gorakshep. Cherish your achievement and rest for the night. (Overnight at Teahouse).

Although every day of the adventure trek to the Everest Base Camp is exciting, we are due to another incredibly exciting moment of the trip. The early morning hiking trip to the Kalapatthar viewpoint is what we are looking forward to early in the morning. Our early morning effort to hike to the highest elevation of the trek is worth going for. The panoramic view of Mt. Everest and other mountains in the surroundings is simply breathtaking. We will also get to enjoy a joyous sunrise experience over the mountains.
Later, we will be returning to Pheriche today. From today onwards you will be returning downwards. Pheriche is a beautiful village separated from Dingboche by a hill. It will take you around six to seven hours to reach Pheriche. You will have your lunch at Lobuche and continue your journey towards Pheriche. (Overnight at Teahouse).

The trek from Pheriche to Namche is comparatively longer compared to other trekking days. You will be getting the last glimpses of Mount Everest. We will be having our lunch at Phunkithanka and continue our walk towards Namche which will take you around 8 hours. Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, explore Namche Bazaar, and savour your last night in the Himalayas enjoying some beautiful Pubs and Bars. (Overnight at Teahouse).

Today is the last day of your trek. After having breakfast you will start your trek towards Namche. We will be having our lunch at Phakding. Also, the very last glimpse of Mount Everest can be seen from Toph Danda. You will be walking for 6-7 hours today. Upon reaching Lukla you can enjoy and explore the Bazaar area of Lukla and buy some Souvenirs. (Overnight at Teahouse).

After breakfast, you will be getting ready for your flight towards Ramechaap. You can bid your final farewell to the Khumbu region. After finishing the departure formalities you will board the flight. The flight will take you to Ramechaap in 20-25 minutes. Upon reaching Ramechaap you will be escorted to Kathmandu via private transfer. Relax at your hotel, and in the evening, enjoy a Farewell Gala Dinner at a Nepali restaurant. (Overnight at Hotel).

It's your last day in Nepal! Grab some breakfast, and then take in some last-minute shopping in Kathmandu. We will make sure you arrive at Kathmandu International Airport with plenty time before your flight home. At this time, we will say our goodbyes and bid you farewell, armed with warm memories and gorgeous photos to show your loved ones.
