Overview
Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha is a Buddhist pilgrimage and WORLD HERITAGE SITE enlisted by UNESCO in 1997, located in Rupandehi District. Lumbini is one of many magnets for pilgrimage that sprang up in places pivotal to the life of the Buddha. Lumbini has several older temples, including the Mayadevi Temple, and various new temples, funded by Buddhist organisations from various countries have been completed or are still under construction, also there is the Puskarini, or Holy Pond, where the Buddha’s mother took the ritual dip before his birth and where he had his first bath. Ashoka pillar is another major site to visit alongside the World Peace Pagoda, Myanmar Golden Temple and Lumbini Crane Sanctuary in Lumbini Tour.

Our representative will meet at the arrival gate with a signboard for Mandala Holidays. Then you will be escorted to your selected hotel. The rest of the day can be spent at leisure. In the evening our guide will hold a briefing for the tour. Overnight at Hotel.

Along the way, the route winds past rolling hills, flowing rivers, terraced farmlands, and vibrant market towns, offering frequent glimpses of rural life and local culture. You may take short breaks for refreshments and relaxation while enjoying views of the changing scenery. As you approach Lumbini, the atmosphere becomes increasingly calm and spiritual, setting the tone for your visit to this sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha.
Spend a full day exploring the sacred site of Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Begin with a visit to the Maya Devi Temple, marking the exact spot where Queen Maya Devi gave birth to Lord Buddha, followed by the historic Ashoka Pillar, erected by Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BC. Continue to the serene Pushkarni Pool, where Queen Maya Devi is believed to have bathed before the birth, and stroll through the peaceful Lumbini Garden, filled with monasteries and meditation areas. Later, visit the World Peace Pagoda, offering a calm and spiritual atmosphere ideal for reflection. The day provides a deeply enriching experience, blending history, spirituality, and tranquility.
This is your last day on the tour. After breakfast, you will prepare for your drive back to Kathmandu. Our vehicle will pick you up from Your Hotel and will escort you back to Kathmandu. This is a scenic drive with Himalayan views, Rivers and Jungles. You will be visiting CG Dham on your way back. Upon reaching Kathmandu you will be escorted to your Hotel.
