Overview

The Shivapuri-Chisapani trek is a scenic and popular hiking route near Kathmandu, offering a blend of natural beauty, cultural experiences, and breathtaking views of the Himalayas. The trek begins at the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, where you ascend through lush forests filled with oak, pine, and rhododendron trees. After reaching the Shivapuri Peak, the highest point of the trek, the trail descends towards Mulkharka, a traditional Tamang village known for its warm hospitality and cultural richness. From Mulkharka, the path continues to Chisapani, a small village that serves as a gateway to the Langtang and Helambu regions. Chisapani is renowned for its panoramic views of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges, making it a favorite spot for trekkers and nature lovers. The trek is moderately challenging and typically takes 2-3 days to complete, making it an ideal short escape from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu while immersing yourself in the serene beauty of Nepal's hills and mountains.

Tour Itinerary

On the first day of the trip the representatives from the agency will be waiting for you at the arrival terminal of Tribhuwan International Airport. We will be there with a vehicle to pick you up from the Airport and drop you at the Hotel in Kathmandu. The drive will take us around 25-30 minutes depending on the traffic condition. On our way we will also witness one of the most important temple for Hindus built in 300 BC, Pashupatinath Temple.

Rest of the day will be on your own, as the hotel is in the heart of Thamel area it will be easy to kill time doing various activities like pubbing, clubbing, shopping, or just strolling around the touristic Thamel area.

Today early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Budanilkantha. As you leave Budanilkantha, you will enter the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. This protected area is rich in biodiversity, with dense forests, diverse wildlife, and numerous hiking trails. Today you get to explore Bishnudwar, the place is also known as the natural reservoir of the holy river Bishnumati. The trek today is easy and simple with trails inside the forest.

Overnight at Dadagaun.

Today is the third day of your trip. Picture yourself waking up to the gentle chirping of birds outside your window. The serene beauty of your surroundings, setting the perfect tone for a peaceful and fulfilling day ahead. We are exploring Baagdwar and Shivapuri peak today. The trail is 15 km (up and down) where there are both stairs and uneven trails and takes about 6 hours to complete the trail. This trek is refreshing gentle and takes you through lush damp forest. Overnight in Mulkharka.

Today is the third day of your trek and envision yourself in Mulkharka, a quaint village nestled along with breathtaking scenery, where every corner offers a glimpse of nature's splendor. As you bid farewell to Mulkharka, the trail unfolds before you like a secret pathway, winding through verdant forests that seem to embrace you with their tranquility. This section of the trail is quite peaceful away from city. You should take your time on the steep trail while enjoying your surroundings. Overnight in Chisapani.

We will start the last day of our trip with a spectacular sunrise along with the breeze of fresh air and the majestic snowcapped mountains which feels like a stone’s throw away from us. Following that will be our delicious breakfast. After having spent enough time at Chisapani we will proceed to trek down to where we started from. The trek today will be mostly downhill in the same path that we took to ascend. After the trek is completed the ride will be waiting for us which will drop us off at your accommodation.
