Tour Itinerary

Our representative will meet at the arrival gate with a signboard for Mandala Holidays. Then you will be escorted to your selected hotel. The rest of the day can be spent at leisure and in the evening, our company representatives will visit you for the final briefing of the trek.

Today you will have to check out early, our representative will escort you to Ramechaap (Manthali Airport) for your flight to Lukla. The drive will take you around 3-4 hours and it will be a 20-25 minute flight more like a mountain flight with a view of many mesmerizing mountains. Upon arrival in Lukla, it is a 3 hours trek along the Dudh Kosi Valley. The trail, lined with blue pine forest, follows the river valley and is especially spectacular in spring when the rhododendron flowers are bright in bloom. Cross the Dudh Kosi River at Benkar, and look way up above 6,000 metres to see the peaks of snow-capped Kusum Kanguru (6369m) and Thamserku (6623m). Press on to Phakding (2610m) where you will rest for the night.

On this day, you will be starting your trek after breakfast continuing along the Dudh Koshi (river), you will enter Sagarmatha National Park (showing your entrance ticket and registering your Trek card). You will have your first altitude jump so you need to take it easy. The walk starts to get a little tougher, with a steep ascent to Namche Bazaar where you will get the first view of Mount Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse from Top Danda. Your accommodation will be at Namche for the night.

Today is your acclimatization day at Namche, you will hike up to Syangboche Airport (3,748 m) and Hotel Everest View (3,880 m) from where you will get the view of Ama Dablam, Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse with some good Coffee. You can also visit the Sherpa Museum at Namche. Rest day at Namche.

We leave Namche Bazaar and head to Thame following Bhote Koshi and past the pine and rhododendron forests. On the way, you will also get to see the mud-plastered stupa at Phurte. As you move ahead you will come to Thamo and Thamo Gompa, and from here the path drops steeply to Khumbu Hydroelectric Plant, ultimately leading to the Thame, which lies at the end of Khumbu Valley. Thame is home to many famous Sherpa mountaineers, including Apa Sherpa, who holds the world record for summiting Everest 21 times. It is also a childhood home of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, one of the first men to climb Mt Everest.

This day you will be walking around the villages while enjoying the views of the landscape, vegetation, and mountains. During sparkling mornings light-painted rocks, lichens, yaks, and snow-capped peaks look surreally vivid. The last village in the valley is Taranga, but we continue the hike through Marulung (4200m) village and finally to Lungden, the destination for this day. In our spare time, we can visit Nakpa Valley that used to be the old trade route to Tibet. Additionally, we can hike to Cho Relmo Lake as well.

It will be one of the most exciting days for you as you will be walking through the first pass in the route - Renjola Pass. We leave Lungden behind to continue our journey forward to the Gokyo Lakes region, depending on the season, you will be able to observe different human activities like yak herding. Once you reach the Renjo La Pass, you will be able to see the majestic views of high peaks like Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516m), Mt. Makalu (8,463m), and Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201m). You will also see the third major Gokyo Lake (among five) - Dudh Pokhari, and the Gokyo village lies alongside this lake. The path then descends and lets you enter the Gokyo Valley, but you need to be careful because the trail might be icy.

Get up early for a couple of hours climb up to Gokyo Peak, which has one of the best panoramas in the Khumbu region. It’s a straightforward but steep climb, and it can be tiring due to the altitude. View four 8,000 meter-plus peaks – Everest (8848m), Cho-Oyo (8153m), Lhotse (8511m), and Makalu (8481m) – and spot countless other towering peaks including Gyachung Kang (7922m) to the east of Cho-Oyo, Cholatse (6440m), Taweche (6542m) and Kangchung (6103m). There’s also a bird’s eye view of the Gokyo lakes and the huge creaking Ngozumpa Glacier, now cutting halfway across the world and snaking its way down the valley far beneath. You will descend back to Gokyo for lunch and rest of the day for exploring around Gokyo.

Today is a rather short trekking day from Gokyo to Thangnak, following the trail that crosses the most impressive glacier in the entire Everest region – Ngozumpa Glacier. The trek goes through snow fields with superb views of mountains and peaks. You will have a memorable trek throughout the day with some challenges too. You can rest the day to get yourself ready to cross the Cho-la Pass.

Today you start early as we head for the crossing of challenging Cho-la Pass, and follow the trail that ascends slightly along the valley and steepens as you approach the pass. The Cho-la Pass is covered with blue ice most of the time, giving trekkers a chill feeling. The ascending trail leads to Chola Pass (5,420m.) from where the views of Lofty mountains including Mt. Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Cho Oyo, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cholaste, Mt. Tawache, Mt. Gyachung Kang and many other are very impressive. You can explore the surrounding area of Dzongla in the evening where we stay for overnight.

The trek to Lobuche involves a dramatic and scenic journey as you cross the Khumbu Glacier, the highest glacier in the world. This part of the trail can be challenging, with rugged and icy terrain, but it offers stunning views of towering peaks and glacial landscapes. After navigating across the glacier, the trail gradually ascends toward Lobuche, a small settlement nestled amidst the high Himalayan wilderness. The surrounding views of Nuptse, Pumori, and other peaks become increasingly captivating as you approach the village. Upon arrival, you settle into your teahouse for a well-deserved rest.

Today is the most important day of the entire trip. You will be starting your trip early at 4 am as you will need to reach Base camp early as problems from high winds occur in the afternoon. It will take you around 3-4 hours to reach Gorakshep where you will have your Lunch and after that, you will carry on your journey towards Everest Base Camp (5,364 m). You will cross some difficult rocks with sights of some crevasses. You can take some pictures at the Everest Base Camp which you can cherish for the rest of your life and be proud of the accomplishment. After some moment you will return to Gorakshep, where you will rest for the night.

Although every day of the adventure trek to the Everest Base Camp is exciting, we are due another incredibly exciting moment of the trip. The early morning hiking trip to the Kalapatthar viewpoint is what we are looking forward to early in the morning. Our early morning effort to hike to the highest elevation of the trek is worth going for. The panoramic view of Mt. Everest and other mountains in the surroundings is simply breathtaking. We will also get to enjoy a joyous sunrise experience over the mountains. Later, we will be returning to Lobuche today where we will rest for the night.

Today, you will be crossing the final among the three passes that lie on your trail. This pass is considered the most difficult among these three passes. The trek starts from Lobuche. The ascent to Kongma La Pass is easy with the path dotted with frozen lakes. From the pass, you can see Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Makalu, Baruntse, and Ama Dablam. We descend from the Kongma La pass to the eastern side of Nigyang Khola Valley and into the Chukhung Village. Sherpas use this area as a yak pasture, but there is no permanent habitation. Recently, this region has gained popularity as a trekking peak, and the trekkers often use Chhukhung for acclimatization purposes.

We descend the Imja Khola valley, trek through the village of Dingboche, famous for its stone-walled potatoes fields, alpine pastures, and continue forward. On the way, you will also see Kharkas (highland sheds) at Tsura, Orsho, and Shomare. As we continue our hike, we will reach Pangboche Village - the place for year-round settlement in the valley, and then to Tengboche. From the Tengboche viewpoint, you can see awe-inspiring views of distinctive peaks like Amadablam (6856m), Everest (8848 m), Nuptse (7861m), Lhotse (8501m). We will also be visiting Tengboche Gompa - the oldest monastery in the Khumbu region.

The trail to Namche Bazaar takes us through forests inhabited by highland wildlife like pheasants, musk deer, mountain goats, or even snow leopards. We will be climbing on the steep slopes around which lie chortens and prayer flags. From the path, you can enjoy the view of the tip of Everest and the backside of Lhotse. You will be getting the last glimpses of Mount Everest. We will be having our lunch at Fungethanga and continue our walk towards Namche. Upon reaching Namche you can go on a walk at the beautiful Namche Bazar and also can enjoy at some beautiful Pubs and Bars.

Today is the last day of your trek. After having breakfast you will start your trek towards Namche. We will be having our lunch at Phakding. Also, the very last glimpse of Mount Everest can be seen from Toph Danda. You will be walking for 6-7 hours today. Upon reaching Lukla you can enjoy and explore the Bazar area of Lukla and buy some Souvenirs.

After breakfast, you will be getting ready for your flight towards Ramechaap. You can bid your final farewell to the Khumbu region. After finishing the departure formalities you will board the flight. The flight will take you to Ramechaap in 20-25 minutes. Upon reaching Ramechaap you will be escorted to Kathmandu via private transfer. In the evening our office representative will come to pick you at your hotel for your Farewell Dinner at a Nepali Restaurant.

It's your last day in Nepal! Grab some breakfast, and then take in some last-minute shopping in Kathmandu. We will make sure you arrive at Kathmandu International Airport with plenty time before your flight home. At this time, we will say our goodbyes and bid you farewell, armed with warm memories and gorgeous photos to show your loved ones.
