Overview
Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal and by far the most developed city in the country. Kathmandu is a city of tall concrete buildings, busy roads, advanced education and technology and home of historical sites and religious pilgrimages. The day tour is specially tailored to explore the UNESCO listed world heritage sites and other religious sites of Katmandu within a single day. The city tour begins at your hotel at 9 am and concludes at your hotel at 6 pm. After having a delicious breakfast, we take you to the must-visit religious and cultural sites of Kathmandu: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Patan Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Nagarkot and other places which are attractions for a tourist like Thamel, Garden of dreams. Kathmandu is also the home of palaces, built by previous rulers.

Tour Itinerary
Our representative will meet at the arrival gate with a signboard for Mandala Holidays. Then you will be escorted to your selected hotel. The rest of the day can be spent at leisure. In the evening our guide will hold a briefing for the tour. Overnight at Hotel.
Today is the auspicious day of our tour. After breakfast, we visit the UNESCO world heritage sites of Kathmandu valley. Our first destination is Bouddhanath Stupa, one of the oldest and the biggest Buddhist monuments ever built in Nepal. Boudhanath is an imposing structure standing some 36 meters. Bouddhanath Stupa stands on the massive three level Mandala style platform surrounded by colourful private family houses. Then we move on to Pashupatinath temple, the temple of Lord Shiva; it has two-storied golden roof and silver doors and is famous for its superb architecture. Pashupatinath temple is situated 5 kilometres east of Kathmandu heart, on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River. We end today’s sightseeing tour with the visit to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, spread over an area of 6.88 sq km, 12 km south-east of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur or Bhadgaon showcases the splendour of the Golden Age of Nepali art and architecture. Built by King AnandDevMalla in the 9th century, the city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. It has remained a model for heritage conservation since then. In the evening we will be transferred to Nagarkot where will rest for the night.
After enjoying the beautiful sunrise from Nagarkot, we continue our sightseeing tour with Patan Durbar Square. We visit The UNESCO listed Patan Durbar Square, the important things to be seen in this area include the Golden Gate and the Golden Window of the old Palace, the beautiful piece of traditional metal crafts, the famed Krishna temple with 21 golden pinnacles, the Royal bath of Sundari Chowk, a perfect piece of the classic work in stone, Royal Taleju temple, Vishwanath Temple and Char Narayan temple are the finest examples of the unique craftsmanship in wood; the temple of Bhimsen with the magnificent golden balcony overlooking the square outside. The stone sculptures, wooden crafts, festivals, paintings and architectural designs have revived the cultural, traditional and architectural prolificacy of this city. Locally, Lalitpur and Yala are the two other names given to the city which both means ‘Beautiful city’. Overnight at Hotel
After Breakfast, we continue our sightseeing tour with a short drive to Swayambhunath. Situated at the hillocks west of Kathmandu, Swayambhunath is one of the sacred and oldest temples of Nepal which is popular among foreigners as the ‘monkey temple’. It is believed that the temple was self-born from a lotus flower when the saint Manjushree cut the lake of Kathmandu valley with his sword (bajra). The temple is built in stupa style and the spherical dome has the inscription of four eyes of wisdom on four different sides which spread harmony, peace and faith all around the world. The temple is the holy place of both Hindus and Buddhist devotees; yet people from any religion and country are allowed to visit the temple, inspect the architecture and sightseeing in the serene valley from the top of the hills. We then move on to Kathmandu Durbar Square, duly recognized as a world heritage site by UNESCO, this particular area best known as Kathmandu Durbar Square lies in the heart of this city. The locals know this area by the old name "Hanuman Dhoka" Palace Square, an ancient seat of the Nepalese Royalty. At the square, you will find Hanumandhoka Palace Museum, Taleju Temple, KumariGhar(House of the Living Goddess), Kasthamandap and other temples and buildings as old as the city itself. In the evening our office representative will come to pick you at your hotel for your Farewell Dinner at a Nepali Restaurant. Overnight at Hotel
